Mathew Sings Graham
a Christmas Song by Pat Graham, sung by 3 yr old Mathew Allred
Dean Wakefield dedicates his collection of Christmas arrangements as follows:
This album is dedicated to the Savior! He fills our home with love and peace. During the Christmas season, our tender feelings for Him grow even deeper! Christmas also enriches our souls with some of the world’s loveliest, most heavenly music – celebrating His birth!
These carols and songs are exquisite! How rewarding it was to arrange and prepare them for you. The Sussex Carol was copied down by the English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams from Mrs. Verrall of Sussex in 1904 – and is so delightful I had to play it.
The first verse reads: “On Christmas night all Christians sing, to hear the news the angels bring – New of great joy, news of great mirth, News of our merciful Savior’s birth.”
All of the carols render homage to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! The scriptural text in Old Things are Done Away, declares: “Old Things are done Away, All have become new, Fulfilled by the coming of the Savior.” The music was written by my beloved teacher Leroy J. Robertson, for his Oratorio from the Book of Mormon.
This album was recorded on the Steinway in our home. I hope you enjoy it – and that Our Savior’s Love will abide in your home during this choice time of the year!
